Street Clocks
Renoda Clock and Millenium Clock
White Plains Beautification Foundation has gifted two street clocks to the city of White Plains:
the Renoda Hoffman Street Clock and the Millennium Clock.
The Renoda Hoffman Street Clock was purchased in 1990 to celebrate White Plains
Beautification Foundation’s 25th Anniversary. It was dedicated to Renoda Hoffman, a beloved
member of the Foundation’s Board and White Plains City Historian for 35 years until her death
in 2005. It is located in Tibbits Park on North Broadway and Main Street.
The Millennium Clock, located on Martine Avenue outside the White Plains Public Library, was
White Plains Beautification Foundation’s gift to the city to commemorate the centennial of the
White Plains Public Library and to honor the late Richard S. Hendey, former mayor of White
Plains, and his 28 years of service to the city. Mayor Hendey was instrumental in locating the
library at its present site on Martine Avenue. The clock was dedicated May 16, 1999.
