School Grants

Every year White Plains Beautification Foundation invites each White Plains school – public,
private and parochial – to apply for a $100 grant the sole criteria of which is that students must
be involved in the gardening project.
Schools have used their grants in a variety of ways from purchasing seeds so that four-year-olds
in the Pre-K program can observe how plants grow to elementary schools starting new outdoor
gardens.
Each year we are pleased to see the schools thoughtfully apply the funds to encourage students
to plant and care for gardens and beautify the city at the same time. These young gardeners
just may be the future of White Plains Beautification Foundation.
