This Blooming City
"This Blooming City," our public access television show, airs Tuesdays and Saturdays at
9 P.M. on channel 76 in the White Plains area. Subjects discussed and illustrated with colorful video cutaways include the Foundation's many gardens, as well as gardens of residents. Professionals in landscaping, trees, pruning, etc. lend their expertise to our
shows, which have aired and been hosted by Beth Wallach since 1990.

Arbor Day
Each year for the last 22 years, WPBF has provided a tree for planting during a school program to celebrate Arbor Day. Under the leadership of our president, Dorothy Schere, and Arbor Day chair Beth Roach, we work with school principals and teachers to involve students in understanding the importance of trees to the environment. For Arbor Day 2006, students at the White Plains Middle School at Eastview planted a Kwansan cherry tree. In past years, students have participated in the planting of a flowering crabapple tree at Post Road School, and Kwansan cherry trees at White Plans High School, Ridgeway, George Washington, and Church Street elementary schools.

We Celebrate 40 Years at our Ruby Gala

On Sunday, November 6, 2005, WPBF celebrated our 40th anniversary at our annual fund raiser appropriately titled "The Ruby Gala." Thanks to our Gala Co-Chairs, Linda and Steven Rasch, and their dedicated committee, hundreds of community supporters enjoyed a memorable evening. We look forward to this year's Gala to be held on Sunday, November 5, 2006, at the Woman's Club of White Plains. Co-Chairs are Renate Daly and Ruth Melnikoff.
